What is Windows Update?

Windows Update is the online extension of Windows that helps you get the most out of your computer. It contains a catalog of fixes, updates and enhancements to Windows and to many programs operating with Windows. The catalog allows you to "shop" for components that will make your computer perform better.

Be sure to download any Critical Updates recommended for your system. These critical updates will fix known problems (such as security issues) specific to your computer.
